Rootsi Eestlaste Liidu 2013. a. kultuuriauhinna pälvis Enn Nõu

Enn Nõu sündis 1933. aastal Tallinnas ja elab peale põgenemist 1944 Rootsis. Ta lõpetas Uppsala ülikooli ja tegutses kopsuhaiguste  ja sisehaiguste spetsialistina ja Uppsala Ülikooli Akadeemilise Haigla kopsukliiniku ülemarstina. Alates 2000. aastast elab ta pooleldi ka Tallinnas.

Enn Nõu on ja on olnud väga mitme kirjandusliku, kultuurilise ja rahvuspoliitilise organisatsiooni juhtiv liige nii Rootsis kui Eestis. Ta on m.h. olnud Rootsi Eestlaste Esinduskogu saadik ja Eesti Komitee Asemike Kogu liige.
Enn oli noorteajakirja ”Eesti Noorus” peatoimetaja ja on avaldanud lühijutte, joonistusi, luuletusi ja novelle Tulimullas, Manas, Teatajas ja Loomingus ning  artikleid ja fotosid väliseesti ja Eesti ajalehtedes.  
Enn Nõu teoste hulka kuuluvad romaan ”Pidulik marss”, novellikogu ”Vastuvett”, kaksikromaanid ”Lõigatud tiibadega” ja ”Parandusmaks”,  romaan ”Nelikümmend viis”,  romaan ”Koeratapja”, novell antoloogias ”Keerdkäigustik”, romaan ”Presidendi kojutulek” ja lõpuks suurteos „Vabariigi pojad ja tütred I,II,III“, mis ilmus Tallinnas aastatel 2010-2012.
Enn Nõu on saanud Eesti Vabariigi presidendilt Valgetähe teenetemärgi  ja hiljuti sai ta Jaan Krossi Sihtasutuse kirjandusauhinna dokumentaalromaani „Vabariigi pojad ja tütred“ eest.
Enn Nõu on aastakümneid oma isiklikku arhiivi kogunud erakordselt palju eestiainelist kirjandust ja dokumente. Selle ühe tulemusena koostas ja toimetas Enn Nõu koos Mart Oravaga aastal 2004 mahuka teose „Tõotan ustavaks jääda… Eesti Vabariigi valitsus 1940-1992“, mis 1720 leheküljel annab põhjaliku kirjelduse Eesti Vabariigi eksiilvalitsuse tegevusest ja seega mitme juhtiva väliseestlase kirjavahetusest Eesti taasiseseisvumise ajal.
Tunnustades tema erakordset panust Eesti kultuuri arendamisel ja hoidmisel on Rootsi Eestlaste Liidu kultuuriauhinna kollegium, koosseisus Aho Rebas, Maarja Talgre, Pille-Mai Laas, Maria Kiisk ja Jaan Seim, otsustanud REL 2013.a. kultuuriauhinna laureaadiks valida Enn Nõu. Auhind antakse üle REL Esinduskogu kevadistungil 24. märtsil 2013 kell 13.00 Stockholmi Eesti Majas.
