A group of youthful Estonian folkdancers from Paide will be visiting their town’s sister city of Westminster, Maryland from June 27 to July 5. The traveling ensemble is actually made up of two folkdance groups: “Südameke” and “Keerutajad.” There will be a total of 26 performers aged 14 to 19 years. The group members will also sing and play instruments.
Two performances are scheduled during their visit to Westminster.
First performance:
Wednesday, June 29, 6:30 p.m.
Carroll Community Colle-ge Ampitheather
1601 Washington Road, Westminster, Maryland.
Please note that the venue is outdoors, so attendees should bring their own chairs or blankets to sit on. The performance is free, but donations will be accepted and welcome.
Second performance:
Monday, July 4 , 4:30-5:00 p.m. and 6:00-6:30 p.m.
Old Fashioned 4th of July Independence Day Celebration
Carroll County Farm Museum, 500 South Center Street, Westminster, Maryland.
The Estonian folk dancers will perform during the day along with other groups. There is an admission charge to enter the Farm Museum grounds. After the performance, everyone can stay to watch traditional Independence Day fireworks.
