Paavo Järvi dirigeeris oma 50. sünnipäeval uusaastakontserti

Aasta muusikuks valitud dirigent Paavo Järvi juhatas 30. detsembril Pärnus Hennessy uusaastakontserti ja tähistas ühtlasi oma 50. sünnipäeva.

Traditsiooniline Hennessy ja Eesti Kontserdi uusaastakontsert tõi Pärnu kontserdimaja külastajatele uue aasta mõnevõrra varem kohale. Seetõttu tuli Paavo Järvil dirigendipulti astuda, kuigi tal oli samal päeval sünnipäev, koguni juubel.

Maailmakuulsa dirigendi Neeme Järvi vanem poeg sai 30. detsembril 50aastaseks. Et see töises õhkkonnas möödus, talle isegi meeldib. Varem pole ta oma sünnipäeval Eestisse sattunud.

"Ma olen siin ainult sellepärast, et saan oma juubelit kuidagimoodi tähistada just Eesti orkestriga, meie ERSOga, ERSO muusikute ja meie Eesti publikuga," ütles Järvi.

Muidugi ei saa Järviga rääkides vaadata mööda faktist, et rahvusringhäälingu muusikatoimetajad ta aasta muusikuks valisid.

"See on suur au minu jaoks, ausalt öeldes tähendab see mulle väga palju, sellepärast et see on siiski eestlastelt ja Eestimaalt tulnud tunnustus ja see on minu jaoks tähtis," kinnitas dirigent.

Aasta muusiku tiitel anti Paavo Järvile üle pidulikul uusaastakontserdil 1. jaanuaril Estonia kontserdisaalis.

Rahvusringhäälingu (ERR) muusikatoimetajad valisid Paavo Järvi aasta muusikuks kõrgetasemelise kontserttegevuse ja Eesti muusikaelu arendamise eest. 

Tänavu kuuluti aasta muusiku tiitel välja juba 31. korda. Möödunud aastatel on selle pälvinud teiste hulgas Tiia-Ester Loitme (2008), Aarne Saluveer (2007), Kalle Randalu (1982), Alo Mattiisen (1988), Valter Ojakäär (1993), Erkki-Sven Tüür (1996), Tõnu Kaljuste (1998), Rein Rannap (2002) jt.

Aasta muusiku tiitel läheb inimesele, kelle loomingulised saavutused on edendanud Eesti muusikakultuuri ja kes on teinud viljakat koostööd Eesti Rahvusringhäälinguga.
