NY Eesti Meeskooriga ümber maailma

New Yorgi Eesti Meeskoor

Asut. 1950

“Eesti laul ja eesti meel, truuiks neil jääme eluteel.”

New Yorgi Eesti Meeskoori tegevusaasta järjekordseks kulminatsiooniks on kevadkontsert.

Seega jagab koor läinud septembrist tehtud töövilja publikuga, kes on New Yorgi Eesti Maja Suurde Saali seda nautima oodatud pühapäeval, 20. mail kell 2 p.l.  Viimaste hooaegade eeskujul peegeldab kontsert ka sel korral teatud teemat.  Meeskoori kauaaegne koorijuht ja auliige Erik Veski on kooriliikmete abiga koostanud unikaalse ja mitmekesise kontsertkava, nimelt “Reis ümber maailma”, mille repertuaari kuuluvad  helitööd on enam kui nelja (!) sajandi vältel lausa igas ilmanurgas  mitmes erinevas  keeles kõlanud.

Muusika stiilid ulatuvad renessansiajastust klassikalisse Euroopasse, Ameerika  spirituaalzhanrist kaasaega. Heliloojateks Beethoven, di Lasso, Gounod, Lara,  Sibelius, Sõmer, Toi, Verdi jt.  Kuulajaskond viiakse nagu lendava vaibaga Granada öödesse ja Gangese lainetava jõe kaldale. Toonela varjuriikki ei jää külastamata. Tõusev täht, Connecticutis elav lauljatar sopran Heli Vaher debüteerib New Yorgi Eesti Meeskoori kontsertsolistina, andes “reisile” kaasa võluri hingestatust. Veel esinevad koori solistidena tenor Reymond Morales,  bariton Urmas Kärner ning  klaveripalaga maestro Veski.  Kontserdi saatjaks on Meeskoori abijuht klaveri-kunstnik Katrin Kuuskne Veski.

Kõik kaasmalased on kutsutud reisile, innustades sellega New Yorgi Eesti Meeskoori 62 aastat kestnud rännakut. Sissepääs / annetus kohapeal on $15, õpilastel alla 17 tasuta. Reisitolmust lahtisaamiseks pakutakse kohvi ja kringlit. Eesti Maja baarist võib ka sisukamaid  “reispasse” broneerida.  Nägemiseni 20. mail !
