The Christmas market on Tallinn’s Town Hall Square opened on November 21. It is like a winter fairytale land – the square is decorated with a sparkling Christmas tree and surrounded by small wooden huts. These offer everything from Christmas goods and gifts to food and drinks.
Strolling through the market truly feels like stepping into a world of its own. In the midst of the city noise, you can pause for a moment and enjoy the holiday season.
However, it must be noted that leaving the market with gifts or a full stomach requires paying quite a hefty sum. Prices for festive dishes start at 15 euros, and a cup of mulled wine can reach up to 10 euros.
On the bright side, the Christmas Market emphasizes environmental sustai-nability, so a 2-euro deposit is charged for tableware. This amount can later be reclaimed at the dish return point.
The Christmas Market stage also hosts singers and dancers every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
This winter joy will be offered to visitors only until December 28, unlike previous years when the market was open until the beginning of January.
