Over the years, many of us have accumulated old photos, albums, and pictures on our phones filled with memories of past Scout and Guide camps, Estonian Sport Days and the annual ESTO Ski gathering.
All too often, these memories fade into the background, with no easy way to preserve or share them across generations. To address this issue, the Estonian Scouts and Guides Association (ESMEGM), in collaboration with the Estonian Sports League (ESL) in the U.S., is introducing a unique new shared photo collection aimed at preserving and celebrating the lives and history of Estonian-Americans in both organizations!
This platform: estoalbums.smugmug.com is designed to be a living digital time capsule. A place where decades of traditions, friendships, camps, sporting events, and the corresponding memories of our organizations can live on and remain accessible to future generations!
Whether you visit the photo gallery via the ESMEGM or ESL website, you can explore:
– Galleries organized by camp, starting from 2023
– Decade-based collections of camp memories from before 2023
– Galleries organized by ESL sports events and activities
This archive belongs to all of us! We invite everyone not only to explore the galleries but also to participate by uploading your own photos and videos to add to the collection, which already features over 10,000 images! When uploading your media, please keep the following guidelines in mind:
- Posted photos must be related to Scout and Guide camps and topics, as well as events and competitions organized by Estonian American Amateur Athletes.
- Upload photos to the correct gallery.
- Keep content appropriate for all age groups.
- Avoid excessive repetition of photos.
- Finally, we only allow appropriate photos and content, and all inappropriate images will be removed
