The annual anniversary event is celebrated in many places around the world, including Tallinn, Tartu and Toronto. it has been held in the San Francisco Bay area since 1983, making it the 35th year of the celebration. It has been hosted by Dr. Mati Kiisk in his beautiful home in San Rafael, California for the past 20 plus years.
The event consist of the men’s Vironia kommerss in the afternoon in which 20 members participated; followed by a Christmas party and dinner with spouses, significant others and kids (with Santa Claus in attendance for the kids). Total attendance for the Christmas party and sitdown dinner was close to 50 people.
Founded in 1960, Korp! Vironia USAL is one of the largest single men’s fraternity chapters in the United States, comprising of 60 members. Headquartered in San Francisco, it has grown steadily by the recruitment of young men in the Bay Area who were college educated either in Estonia or the US, now comprising the majority of its membership.
