Commemorative Stamp Marks 100 Years of Official U.S.-Estonian Relations
The centennial of diplomatic relations between Estonia and the United States is being marked with a commemorative stamp, issued by the state postal service Eesti Post-Omniva. The unveiling of the first-day cover will take place on the morning of June 17 at the Foreign Ministry. With a print run of 20,000 and a nominal value of €1.90, the stamp can be used for international mail, as well as domestically. The presentation can be seen live, starting at 9:30 a.m. Estonian time on Friday, June 17 via the Ministry of Foreign Affairs YouTube channel (https://www.youtube.com/user/estonianmfa). (Pg 1)

Over Half of the 70,000 Ukrainian Refugees in Estonia Wish to Stay
As of 14 June, 70 776 Ukrainian war refugees have arrived in Estonia, a large number of whom have moved on to other countries. Currently, 42,447 refugees have decided to stay in Estonia. The statistics of war refugees arriving in Estonia can now be seen on the Social Insurance Board’s website, updated daily at 11 am. The statistics can be viewed at https://sotsiaalkindlustusamet.ee/et/ukraina#ua-stat (Pg 6)

Magnitude 2.3 Earthquake Detected off Estonia’s Northwest Coast
At 6:10 am on June 13, a minor earthquake was detected off the coast of northwest Estonia. The tremor, measuring 2.3 on the Richter scale, could be felt in the Alliklepa Bay area, west of the Pakri Islands. It was detected by the Finnish-Estonian seismic monitoring system at an estimated depth of four kilometers, which is similar to others recorded in the area over the last decade. Historically, the northwest is the country’s most seismically active region. Just 20 kilometers from Monday’s tremor is the epicenter of the largest tremor ever recorded in Estonia, a 4.5 magnitude mild earthquake, which occurred near the island of Osmussaar on October 25, 1976.
