„Tõde ja õigus“ valiti Oscari short-listi

Ameerika filmiakadeemia valis Tanel Toomi mängufilmi „Tõde ja õigus“ nende 10 filmi hulka, mis jätkavad kandideerimist parima rahvusvahelise filmi kategoorias. Filme esitas Oscarile 91 riiki.

Lisaks A. H. Tammsaare samanimelisel teosel baseeruvale mängufilmile „Tõde ja õigus“ jõudsid kümnekohalisse short-list’i veel: Tšehhi film “The Painted Bird”, Prantsusmaa film “Les Misérables”, Ungari film “Those Who Remained”, Põhja-Makedoonia film “Honeyland”, Poola film “Corpus Christi”, Venemaa film “Beanpole”, Senegali film “Atlantics”, Lõuna-Korea film “Parasite” ja Hispaania film “Pain and Glory”.

„Tõde ja õiguse“ rahvusvaheline esilinastus toimus Lõuna-Koreas Busani rahvusvahelisel filmifestivalil. Film nomineeriti Los Angeleses Rahvusvahelise pressiakadeemia poolt väljaantavale auhinnale „Satellite Award“. Järgnevalt linastub film Palm Springsi filmifestivalil, kus Tanel Toom osaleb Oscari eelvalikusse jõudnud filmide režissööride paneelis.

 „Tõde ja õigus“ esilinastus Eestis 20. veebruaril ja püstitas kinodes rekordi üle 267 000 vaatajaga, lüües vaadatavuse troonilt seal ligi 9 aastat olnud mängufilmi „Avatar“. Film valmis Eesti Vabariigi 100. sünnipäevaks ja oli juubeliaasta kinoprogrammi lõppakord. „Tõde ja õigus“ valmis koostöös ettevõtja Armin Karuga, toetajateks on Auto Forte, Jetoil ja Eesti Meedia.

Produtsent Ivo Felt märkis intervjuus rahvusringhäälingule, et oluline on, et võimalikult paljud inimesed filmi vaataksid ning selle jaoks on filmile palgatud oma PR-agentuur ehk siis inimesed, kes hoolitsevadki selle eest, et inimesed saali saada. Turundusega tegeleb Ameerika poolt Tatjana Detlofson, kes aitas eestlasi ka filmide “Mandariinid” ja “Vehkleja” puhul.

Ivo Felt arvas ka, et kui juba film on kümne parima hulka saanud, järelikult on see paljudele meeldinud.

 

Eesti filmid linastuvad Skandinaavia festivalil Laiem kinopublik saab Eesti Oscarile pürgivaid filme näha LA 2020 Skandinaavia filmifestivali raames.

Parima võõrkeelse filmi Oscarile eelvoorust edasi pääsenud 10 filmi hulgas kandideeriv Tõde ja õigus / Truth and Justice linastub pühapäeval, 12. jaanuaril kell 1.30 p.l. Juba järgmisel päeval selgub, kas film saab edasi ka ametlikuks 2020. a Oscari nominendiks.

Eesti ja Läti koostöös valminud ja mitmeid auhindu võitnud dokumentaalfilm Surematu/Immortal on ekraanil laupäeval, 4. jaanuaril kl 1 p.l.
