Pillerkaar, Estonian Folk Dancers from the Washington, DC, Metro Area and BWES, Baltimore Washington Estonian Singers, performed at the Christmas Village in the Inner Harbor on December 1, 2018.
Displaying the authentic charm of the original German Christmas Village, Pillerkaar and the BWES celebrated the milieu of the season by performing Estonian folk dances accompanied by the cheerful music of the BWES. Although the weather was misty, dull, and dreary, spirits were raised with riveting steps and smiling faces! The performance of Oige ja vasemba (Grand Right and Left) to the music of Welcome Christmas from the original How the Grinch Stole Christmas was a new and wonderful experience! As an extra treat, Pillerkaar provided piparkoogid (ginger snaps, a traditional Estonian baked item) for the audience to sample!
