Meremuuseum hakkab Lennusadamas näitama Eesti vanimat laevavrakki

Saaremaa Orissaare vallavanem Aarne Põlluäär ja Eesti Meremuuseumi direktor Urmas Dresen allkirjastasid 29. septembril koostööleppe, millega seati paika Eesti vanima laevavraki ehk Maasilinna laeva eksponeerimise tingimused Tallinna Lennusadama vesilennukite angaarides.

Koostööleppe järgi on Orissaare vallal õigus deponeerida Maasilinna laevavrakk oma leiukohta tagasi, kui valda on välja ehitatud sobivad ja kohased tingimused selle väärikaks eksponeerimiseks, teatas meremuuseum BNS-ile.

Maasilinna laevavrakki hakatakse transportima Tallinnasse oktoobris, et alustada renoveerimistöödega laeva heaks säilimiseks ja ekspo-neerimiseks.

Maasilinna laevavrakk on Eesti ajaloolistest laevadest seni vanim, mis leitud.

Vraki avastasid meremuuseumi allveearheoloogiaklubi “Viikar” sukeldujad Väikese Väina kaldal asuva keskaegse Soneburgi ehk Maasilinna ordulossi välisreidi vetest 1985. aastal.  Kaks aastat hiljem toimetati vrakk kaldale. Samasse Illikulaiule püstitati ka ajutine ehitis, mille otstarve oli vrakile kaitse ja konserveerimistingimuste tagamine. Esialgne uurimine on tuvastanud, et alus oli suure tõenäosusega ehitatud Saaremaal 1550. aasta paiku. Ehituslikult võib alust pidada väga sarnaseks Soome haaksi või Rootsi haxe tüüpi transpordilaevaga.

Järgmisel aastal avatav Lennusadam ühendab tervikuks maailmas ainulaadses raudbetoonkoorikehitises esitletud ajaloolise mere-tehnika ja kolmetasandilise eskpostitsiooni.
