Dear fellow Estonians and friends of Estonia, LEP 2017 is only 2 weeks away and we are all looking forward to this celebration.
I know many of you have bought passes and reserved rooms and I thank you for this support.
If you have decided not to attend I am emailing you to ask you to reconsider and join the event to help us make history here in Los Angeles.
More importantly I am asking you to help prove to all that our culture and country matter.
That it is important to support and keep alive our culture for our next generations.
It is too easy to drift away from our history and be absorbed into our lives outside of Estonia.
The truth is our country is always in our hearts.
Estonia 100 happens only once in a lifetime, which means it is a very special event for all of us.
Just to give you a few big points.
– The Prime Minister and his staff will be here for the first time.
– Big Media, including Estonian National TV and TV 3 from Estonia, will attend to capture the event for our family and friends back home.
– Consular representatives and other government officials from many major countries will attend.
– EV 100 is sending its director and staff from the Ministry of Culture.
– Many of Estonia’s top businesses back home are attending will join the Prime Minister here.
Even if you can’t come there are ways to help us support and contribute to the future of your home country.
How?
It is very simple, support us with a donation, buy a pass or ticket even if you can’t come.
Any amount you send helps someone else, who might be struggling financially, to attend. It brings music and art to the event, but more importantly it makes sure the culture of Estonia has a chance to live on.
Understand clearly, the event will lose money.
A few dedicated, kind and loving Estonians pay the loss.
It will be in the thousands of dollars.
Please take a moment to think about that and know this is a very small group of less than 10 people that have organized this over the past 18 months.
We all owe them gratitude.
Just to bring the performers to the event will cost $40,000.00 with hotels and meals.
We appreciate your support very much.
You can donate anonymously, or we can put your name up everywhere as a supporter, or take a full page ad in the LEP2017 guide, anything is possible!
Being part of the event is a once in a life time opportunity to celebrate your heritage.
Help us make sure everyone can come, even the ones who can’t afford it.
Our culture needs to live on!
