Kevadised muusikamärkmed

Vabandan lugejate ees, et pole mõnda aega kirjutanud Välis-Eesti muusikaelust.  Mitmel põhjusel on olnud raske sõita kontsertidele Newarkis ja New Yorgis. Nii olen jäänud ilma Neeme Järvi viimastest esinemistest, samuti Paavo Järvi kontserdist NY-is. Neeme Järvi juhul on sellest eriti kahju, sest teatavasti lõppes 2008/09 hooajaga tema töö New Jersey Sümfoonia-orkestri (NJSO) muusika-direktorina. Veel käesoleva aasta jaanuaris juhatas Neeme Järvi New Jerseys emeriitdirigendina Giuseppe Verdi  “Requiemi”  –  suurteos orkestri, koori ja nelja vokaalsolistiga  –  kuid see oli väärikas lõpppunkt tema aktiivsele tööperioodile NJSO-ga, kuigi ta jääb edasi NJSO kunstiliseks nõunikuks.

Kus on siis Neeme Järvi uus tööpõld? Eestlastele on huvitav teada, et alates 2010/11 hooajast on Järvi jälle Eesti Riikliku Sümfooniaorkestri muusikadirektor Tallinnas   –   koht, mida ta pidas kauges minevikus, nimelt 1963-79. Aga see pole kõik. Ta on endiselt Haagis, Hollandis, asuva Residentie Orkest muusikadirektor (alates septembrist 2005) ning lisaks sellele jätkub tal laialdane tegevus külalisdirigendina üle maailma. Tagantjärele tuleks mainida 2009/10 hooaja esinemisi Londoni Filharmoonia, Philadelphia Orchestra, Hollandi Concertgebouw ja Orchestre de Paris ansamblitega. Käesoleva aasta alguses toimus turnee Dresdeni Staatskapelle’ga läbi Skandinaavia, esineti Šoti Kuningliku Rahvusorkestri ja Berliini Filharmooniaga. Mais on Neeme Järvi taas Dresdenis, et juhatada kolme kevadkontserti sealses Semperoper’i saalis, lisaks esinemised mujal Saksamaal.

Sain hiljuti Järvilt e-kirja Hiinast, kus 1. mail avatakse Shanghais rahvusvaheline näitus EXPO 10. Neeme juhatab Hiinas riikidevahelise kultuurivahetuse programmi alusel kolme kontserti Beijingis, Shanghais ja Ximenis. Temale omase huumoriga teatas ta, et Eesti Päevalehe järgi pidavat EXPO  Eesti paviljonis olema üheks väljapanekuks 33 roosat põrsast  “mis peaks väljendama kokkuhoidu ja sõbralikkust”.  Ta lubas neid ka vaatama minna. Nii.
Vahepeal aga tormab aeg ja maestrot ootab varsti 73. sünnipäev. Pole aga märgata tema energia kahanemist. Soovime talle juba ette head sünnipäeva.
Raul Pettai
