Hundreds attended the Boston Baltic Film Festival (BBFF) last weekend where the Estonian films “Kalev”, and “Melchior the Apothecary” I & II were screened.

Filmmakers Ove Musting, Veiko Esken and Olle Mirme were on hand from Estonia with movie props and stories from behind the scenes in making the films. The festival committee members and many in the audience came in medieval costumes to watch the Melchior films and to enjoy the reception.

The Virtual Festival continues for two weeks, March 6-19, with three Estonian films among the 11 offered. (The Melchior films are available virtually only in Massachusetts.) The Estonian films are “The Story of the Baltic University”; “Õigus õnnele”; “Kiik, kirves ja igavese armastuse puu.” For information on how you can watch the films at home, please visit the website: https://www.bostonbalticfilm.org/2023

ERKÜ/EANC (Eesti Rahvuskomitee Ühendriikides/Estonian American National Council), the Boston Estonian Society, the Consulate of New York, and the Estonian Film Institute helped to make the event a huge success.
