Former President of Estonia Toomas Hendrik Ilves will be heading to California to join Stanford University as a visiting fellow beginning in January. According to the university, his initial appointment will run from January through June, after which the school’s Hoover Institute is to extend his appointment for another full year.
Ilves is set to work at the Stanford University Center for International Security and Cooperation in the Freeman Spogli Institute for International Studies.
“After spending the past quarter of a century on digitizing Estonia, a country also faced with daunting security challenges, I plan to write a book on the foundations of a functioning digital society,” the university also reported Ilves as saying.
