The Washington Estonian Society (WES) has been keeping busy this fall! On Sunday, October 19, 2025, more than thirty Estonians and friends came together for our annual hike and social outing at Sugarloaf Mountain’s Stronghold recreation area.
The day couldn’t have been more perfect — blue skies, warm air, and stunning views of the Maryland countryside. Participants chose from several hiking trails, ranging from leisurely walks to more challenging climbs, before regrouping at the nearby Sugarloaf Mountain Vineyards. There, everyone enjoyed a relaxing afternoon sharing stories, laughter, and good company over local wines.
It was a wonderful day of reconnecting with old friends and welcoming new faces to our community.
