Pillerkaar danced at the 8th Annual Hartford County, Maryland Celebration of Cultures in Bel Air on May 6, 2017. People came from around the state for a day of family friendly fun, tasting ethnic foods, and marveling at traditional dance performances. As a sprinkling of rain tickled the streets, Pillerkaar swirled in action with a slew of Estonian traditional dances filling the area with radiant energy and cheer. Crowd favorites were the colorfully animated Märt Agu’s choreographed dance called “Kõrtsiruumis” (lightly translated as “In the Pub”) and the traditional wedding dance “Tuljak”, choreographed by the “mother of Estonian folk dance” Anna Raudkats nearly 100 years ago.
