The RAHVAKETT jamboree is extending an invitation to all U.S. Estonian Girl Guides and Boy Scouts.

Spring is at hand, winter will soon be but a memory, and this summer’s Estonian girl guide and boy scout jamboree RAHVAKETT is approaching. The Estonian Girl Guides USA and Estonian Boy Scouts USA are pleased to announce that we have the opportunity to participate in the suurlaager (i.e., Estonian Scout/Guide international jamboree) this summer in Canada. Estonian Guides and Scouts from around the world are invited to the Kotkajärve campground in Canada this August 15–22.

Suurlaager offers the opportunity to forge new friendships, master new skills, expand your horizons, deepen your sense of community in Estonian Scouting/Guiding, and enjoy Kotkajärve’s natural beauty. At Kotkajärve you can canoe and kayak, go hiking and swimming, play sports, do archery, go to saun, and much more!

If you would like further information about suurlaager, please visit the official website: http://www.rahvakett.ca. You can register and pay online. As time goes on, the price of registration will rise as follows (as indicated on the form):

Until April 30, 2015 (deadline extended)  $300 CAD (~$236 USD)

From April 30–May 31, 2015       $350 CAD (~$275 USD)

From June 1–July 31,  2015        $400 CAD (~$315 USD)

After August 1, 2015                  $400 CAD (~$315 USD)

Note: the Canadian dollar is currently at a very favorable exchange rate, 1 CAD = approx. 0.8 USD.

Participants can also send a check or money order for Canadian dollars to:

Kanada Malev, c/o Ngdr. Kairi Taul Hemingway,

Flat 3 – 1747 Bayview Avenue

Toronto ON M4G 3C5

All counselors may attend for a fee of $100 CAD. The requirements are: (a) the counselor must be 18 years of age or older, and (b) agree to work wherever they are assigned for the running of the camp.

We recommend that every interested individual register electronically via the website as soon as possible:

http://www.rahvakett.ca/#!register/c1ssm

The USA organizations need to know who from our ranks plan on attending suurlaager in Canada so that we can effectively represent and support everyone as a group and organize transport, etc.

If you would like to attend RAHVAKETT suurlaager, in addition to registering please fill out the following form and return it to us: RAHVAKETT Suurlaager survey at

http://goo.gl/forms/ypmz9nGF9o

Registering for suurlaager is vital because otherwise you can’t go. Filling out the survey is vital because it will enable us to organize and represent USA Scouts/Guides as a unified group. If you are interested in suurlaager, please do both as soon as you can.

General info is available at our own Järvemetsa website: http://jarvemetsa.org/camp_info_eng.html

Come with us to beautiful Kotkajärve! Bring along your Scout-brethren and Guide-sisters new friends, beautiful experiences, and exciting adventures await!

(And remember: this summer Järvemetsa laager will be on July 18–26!)

gdr Tiina Ets,

nskm Mart Kuhn,

ngdr Leena Kangro
