Läti Janis Baltvilksi lastekirjanduse ja illustratsioonipreemia omistati Kivirähkile ja raamatu läti keelde tõlkinud Guntars Godinsile raamatu «Leiutajateküla Lotte» eest.
Auhind anti üle pühapäeval, Läti lastekirjanduse klassiku Janis Baltvilksi sünnipäeval.
«Kivirähk on üks vaimukamaid ja populaarsemaid Eesti kirjanikke, keda on tunnustatud kõigi võimalike Eesti auhindadega. Mitmed tema teosed on kogunud populaarsust ka Lätis,» ütles auhinnaprogrammi esindaja Zane Jauja BNSile.

«Luuletaja ja tõlkija Godins, kelle professionaalsust Baltvilksi auhinna žürii kõrgelt hindas, pälvis sel aastal ka tõlkijate auhinna, mille andsid välja Läti ja Eesti välisministeeriumid kolme Eesti raamatu läti keelde tõlkimise eest. Üks raamatutest oli «Leiutajateküla Lotte»,» ütles Jauja.
Janis Baltvilksi auhinda antakse välja aastast 2004 eesmärgiga juhtida tähelepanu sellele, et lapsed loeksid raamatuid läti keeles.
