The seventh annual Baltic Advocacy Days took place with three days of virtual meetings and two days of in-person meetings in the United States Congress from April 8-12, 2024, with some additional meetings scheduled in the week that followed.
The Joint Baltic American National Committee (JBANC) first organized the advocacy event in 2018 and it has been held every year since then, including during the Covid pandemic, when all the meetings were virtual. For the past two years, the event has been hybrid, with meetings evenly divided between those remote and those face-to-face.
Baltic Advocacy Days for 2024 were focused on ensuring the United States continues to deepen its security relationship with the Baltics and improve the region’s defensive capacity. We have also been advocating to help Ukraine to victory and to reaffirm the United States’ commitment to NATO during the alliance’s 75th anniversary.
This year over 65 people from 22 U.S. states registered, and 30 meetings were held. Our advocacy didn’t end then, it continues year-round. From April 15-16, the largest Ukraine Action Summit took place in Congress with over 500 participants from 47 states. JBANC, as part of the American Coalition for Ukraine, actively supports the Summit and works with its partners to help Ukraine defend itself and achieve ultimate victory.
