We are thrilled to announce the return of the Boston Baltic Film Festival (BBFF) for its sixth annual celebration of Baltic cinema! Mark your calendars for a cinematic journey that promises to be unforgettable from March 1-3, 2024, at the Arts Emerson Paramount Center cinema in Boston, MA, followed by the virtual festival on March 4-18, 2024.

The BBFF showcases world-class feature films and documentaries, offering a unique opportunity to experience the creativity, reflection, and rebellion that defines the Baltic soul. We invite you to immerse yourself in the rich tapestry of Baltic cinema, providing a glimpse into this vibrant region’s diverse perspectives and storytelling.

This year’s selection includes the acclaimed Estonian film, “Smoke Sauna Sisterhood,” recognized by the New York Times as one of the best films of 2023. Additionally, we are excited to announce the gripping opening night movie from Estonia, “Invisible Fight,” a powerful narrative that explores the human spirit’s resilience in the face of adversity.

Event Highlights:

In-Person Screenings: March 1-3, at the Arts Emerson Paramount Center cinema.

Virtual Event: Explore the festival from the comfort of your home from March 4-18.

Opening Night Reception: March 1; join us for a special evening to kick off the festival with enthusiasm and anticipation.

”Meet the Baltic Filmmakers” Panel: March 1, engage with the talented filmmakers behind the showcased works and gain insights into their creative processes.

Premiere: March 3. The documentary “The Paradox of Seabrook Farms” is a universal story of hope and new beginnings about the many Estonian refugees and others who came with nothing to a small New Jersey community 70 years ago and left with new opportunities.

The BBFF is a labor of love, entirely volunteer-run, and relies on the support of film enthusiasts like you. Your attendance, ticket purchases, donations and support make this cultural celebration a reality.

Don’t miss the opportunity to be part of this cinematic extravaganza! Whether you’re a seasoned film enthusiast or exploring Baltic cinema for the first time, the Boston Baltic Film Festival promises a delightful experience for all.

Join us for three days of film screenings, cultural exchange, and meaningful conversations. Let’s celebrate the magic of storytelling together at the Boston Baltic Film Festival!

We look forward to seeing you there!

Warm regards,
