Londoni mainekas ülikoolis toimus Eesti filmifestival

11.-13. veebruaril toimus  Londoni majandus- ja poliitikateaduste koolis London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) Eesti filmifestival “Disko ja tuumasõda”.
Festivali raames näidati kuut dokumentaal- ja mängufilmi, mis peegeldavad Eesti elu ja filmikunsti erinevatest tahkudest.
Festivali keskmes oli Jaak Kilmi ja Kiur Aarma dokfilm “Disko ja tuumasõda”, mis on ka varem Suurbritannia filmifestivalidel edukalt esinenud. Pärast linastust toimus arutelu, mida juhtisid filmi stsenarist ja produtsent Kiur Aarma ning Londoni ülikooli politoloogia professor Allan Sikk.
Festivali kavas olid veel Asko Kase “Detsembrikuumus”, Kersti Uibo “Kitsas on värav”, Elmo Nüganeni “Meeletu” ning kaks lühifilmi Margus Pajult. Filme juhatasid sisse ja kommenteerisid režissöör Kersti Uibo, Eesti lavastaja Londonis Liisa Smith ning Briti-Eesti Assotsiatsiooni esimees Neil Taylor.
Festivali korraldasid Eesti tudengid LSEs koostöös Eesti saatkonnaga Londonis.
1894. aastal asutatud Londoni majandus- ja poliitikateaduste kool on maailma üks juhtivamaid ülikoole, kus õpib ligi 9000 üliõpilast 140 riigist.
